Rezultati Konkursa 2015 Results Competition 2015

Konkurs Poezija -Proza 2015

Competition Poetry – Prose 2015

On behalf of the Serbian Library in London we wish to thank all participants in the Competition Poetry – Prose 2015. We also wish to thank the judges of the Competition on their successfully finished work.

The judges had a very difficult task to make their choice this year, so they decided anonymously to commend the following work for publishing. The judges also pointed out that many works, which did not complied with the rules (text written by hand, text written on the back of the same page, single row text, etc.) were automatically rejected. This has been done with the hope that in the next years rules will be followed to the dot.

Prose in English:

The Classroom (ĆĆ) = Slađana Subotić, UK

Cestitamo izabranim autorima

Congratulations to the selected authors

Flyer3 LAFA

International and Serbian Pop and rock evergreen covers Own songs

3Lafa means, in Serbian, “three guys”, or “three cool cats” in American slang. We are three men from Belgrade, Serbia that have – in one way or another, lived with pop music for the past 50 years.

Vlada Marković was in a star duet “Vlada & Bajka” with a friend, in the 70’s. They were the Yugoslav version of Simon and Garfunkel, playing, recording, selling thousands of records and concert tickets, performing cover versions of “Sounds of Silence”, “The Boxer” as well as many very successful own numbers (“Oblak”, “Beograd”…). Currently, he runs and conducts the Belgrade Chamber Choir. Vlada sings and plays guitar, keyboards and flute. 3Lafa perform many of his famous, original hits.

Nenad Janjić has – since always – entertained dozens and hundreds at parties and weddings, appeared in bars and concerts, with his numerous CDd’s singing covers of popular and folk music from the region, Russia and the world. Sings and plays guitar, keyboards and accordion. 3Lafa perform his adaptations of some less known Russian popular, folk and gypsy songs.

Pedja Ristić composed and recorded already in the 70s (“Goro moja”) and has been a private party entertainer, with an international repertoire, ever since. Recently he started composing and recording again and 3Lafa perform a few of his original songs, some from 4 decades and others 4 months ago.

3Lafa sing covers of hits by Simon&Garfunkel, S’vremenaNaVreme, Mamas&Papas, Vlada&Bajka, TheBeatles, Don McLean, NoviFosili, Sting, ArsenDedíc, LeonardCohen, Ljube as well as own songs and many others.

3Lafa perform on acoustic 6- and 12-string guitars, accordion, flute and diverse percussion, in Serbian, English, Russian, Latin and other languages and always manage to get their audiences – young or old – to sing and dance along.

THE SERBIAN LIBRARY IN LONDON ANNOUNCES THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL POETRY AND PROSE COMPETITION

The Serbian Library in London announces its Second International Poetry and Prose competition 2015. This is continuation of the very successful competition held last year. We have had 52 candidates from Europe and USA. We are sorry that the information did not reach Australia on time, so we did not have candidates from that part of the world; though there are a significant number of poets and writers who write in both Serbian and English. Their origins are from the Balkans and South-East Europe. We welcome Australia this year.

This competition will be open for applications consisting of your written poetry or prose until 31st AUGUST 2015. The announcement of the winners will be in OCTOBER 2015, just before The Belgrade Book Fair, and we shall publish a book with the winning poems and prose which will be launched during Serbian Month in the United Kingdom, (20.January 2016 till the end of February 2016). Date will be announced sooner at the time.

The Serbian Library apologises for the late printing and publishing of the 2014 winner’s book. This was due to events leading in to the new registration of the Serbian Library in London. We hope that all candidates will understand that due to technical issues the competition 2014 was delayed and did not happen at the dead line we proposed.

Dear writers and poets, you are invited to enter this competition in even bigger numbers this year. Your talent will enrich the Serbian Diaspora’s literature and culture.

Last year our selectors (panel of judges) had an extremely tough challenge to select the best competitors and announce the winners, as the quality of the received works was very high.

We hope that this year will challenge our selectors even more!

WE WISH YOU A GOOD LUCK AND SUCCESS
